Passage 1 Corinthians 13:13
Oh if I could tell you how many times I have heard the beginning of this passage at weddings I play harp at…I won’t tell you!
This is a great ‘feel good’ passage this week, unless you are uncomfortable with God loving you and knowing you, that is an issue for some people but please keep reading.
When I started reading this chapter I was honestly thinking…’Oh no what am I going to get out of it, I have heard it so many times before!’ But the middle part of the passage reminded me of something. In verse 11 where it talks about ‘when I was a child I spoke like a child’ reminded me of a quote my mother likes to use, “Your actions don’t match your intelligence.” She got this quote from a book…maybe she’ll leave a comment (hint to my mother to leave a comment) and tell us what book it was from. Anyway it’s so true how many of us have so much potential but sit on the couch watching other people’s dreams come true on all the reality TV shows. We should be making our own dreams come true! Maybe we fear failure or perhaps good old fashion ‘work’. Yes I said it perhaps some of us are lazy…myself included. So that is what I got out of verse 11.
Now onto vs 12. Wait first verse 8, it starts off saying ‘Love never ends…’ Since love is a choice I just have to say, “Thank you God for continuing to love me even though I am miry clay.” That is amazingHIS love never ends.
Ok so back to vs 12, I like the NLT best…
“Now we see things imperfectly as in a cloudy mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely just as God now knows me completely.”
I am really not sorry that I don’t have anything really deep to share with you this week but I do have something earth shattering to share with you…GOD NOW KNOWS ME COMPLETELY! He knows YOU too. If you are struggling to feel the love of God in your life this week or maybe you are having trouble seeing Him as your Father because you didn’t have such a great earthly father, just know that He knows you and His love never ends. That is earth shattering. I would love to pray for you if you struggle to really know and feel God’s love.
Some people have an issue with this subject because they don’t understand things that God allows to happen in their lives. I struggled with this BIG TIME a few years ago. Why would God allow children to suffer with cancer…why would God allow teens to mistakingly get pregnant but not allow a perfectly healthy married couple to have children. I don’t know why but GOD KNOWS ME COMPLETELY AND HIS LOVE NEVER ENDS! I rest in this promise and let me tell you to pray that you can too because it feels good to rest and not be angry or sit and question God. I sleep better and I have a gorgeous little girl whom God allowed us to adopt…so how can I question Him now? That little girl is here because of a teen who didn’t plan to get pregnant but did and then gave her baby girl the best gift EVER! A FAMILY 🙂
“Thank you God for allowing us to raise a princess of Yours, thank you that your love never ends, please help anyone reading this to know You and know your love and rest in the fact that You know us all completely, Amen”
