He is always with me, to the very end.

Passages: Mathew 28:16-20 and Luke 10:1-23

We are moving over into Mathew and Luke and we’ll go back into Corinthians again next week.  It totally changed my thought patterns in some ways and in other ways it really connected with the last post I wrote about going out into the world and showing your LOVE as a child of God.

The verse that stood out to me the first day I read the chapter was in Luke 10,

8 “If you enter a town and it welcomes you, eat whatever is set before you. 9 Heal the sick, and tell them, ‘The Kingdom of God is near you now.’

I have been really convicted about getting my paperwork done in order to volunteer at my local hospital with the harp.  I can’t heal the sick literally but the sound of the harp does promote healing and so does the love of Jesus Christ. I have been almost a year getting my TB tests done and now I just one reference to do.  It really wasn’t that big of a deal to do the paper work if I am being honest with you.  The TB test required a lot of Doctors visits which was a nuisance but the paper work was really nothing.  I have no real excuse for having let it go on this long.  I think a part of me is really scared and that’s the real reason I am procrastinating.  I promised myself that if I was ever blessed with the opportunity of owning a small harp that this is something I would do for God and for my community.  I’m scared because I can get so easily drawn into feeling other people’s pain and emotions and it leaves me feeling depressed and drained.  It’s a selfish reason for not having moved forward with this calling but it’s the truth.  I have had an empathetic heart since I lost a really young dear friend to cancer.  Actually I have lost two friends to cancer but one I was especially close to.  I walked along side her during her three year battle that she won in so many ways but lost with her life. She represented Christ as a warrior for Him teaching us all about courage, love and faith.  Being in the midst of so many sick children during visitations at The Hospital For Sick Children it’s hard for me to think about going ‘back there’ again with my emotions.  It brings up a lot of fear yet I feel so called to do this music therapy with the harp.  Tough….

I was really comforted today when I noticed how Jesus ends of the book of Mathew

“And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Mathew 28:20

What an encouraging thought as I consider my road ahead, who I might meet and circumstances I might be a witness too.  I can’t tell you about the things I saw the children and Sick Kids Hospital suffering with. But I do know this… God is there and He is with me too.  So many amazing miracles happen at that hospital and at hospitals all around the world.  Perhaps it’s an opportunity to look through a window at the amazing things God is doing in hospitals.

In Luke 10 it says that the Lord choose disciples and sent them ahead in pairs to all the towns and places He planned to visit.  Perhaps God wants to visit places in the hospital I would be volunteering at and His plan is to send me there first.  Perhaps He has a place He wants you to visit too so He can do the follow-up appointment 🙂

1 The Lord now chose seventy-twoother disciples and sent them ahead in pairs to all the towns and places he planned to visit.

The disciples also brought the blessing of peace to the homes of the people that accepted them.

5 “Whenever you enter someone’s home, first say, ‘May God’s peace be on this house.’ 6 If those who live there are peaceful, the blessing will stand; if they are not, the blessing will return to you.

What an amazing opportunity we have!  I think I am missing out because of FEAR!

This is my prayer for me and for you this week where ever you are and what ever you do make it happen 🙂

2 These were his instructions to them: “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.

I’m going to try to make it happen too! Let me know how I can pray for you or how you are going to go out and ‘harvest’.  So many people have great ideas as to how to witness to others in practical ways so let’s hear about them.  Share your ideas even the simple ones 🙂
